UCCIO ESPOSITO TORRIGIANI

fine art

Born in 1932

Studied fine arts in Venice and Paris with exhibitions in Italy, France and Tunisia. In the middle of the sixties he was less a painter and became a writer, publishing novels and theatre plays in French. His audioplays were translated into German and into Italian.

In 1997 he settled down in Crete and from the first moment he fell in love with the old olive trees.

He first began taking photos and then also took up his old  passion for painting to express his love for the trees and the Cretan landscape.

Later he was inspired by the famous poet Jannis Ritsos and after translating his poem Romiosini (Greecety)  into French, he created a cycle of paintings as a hommage to the poet that was exhibited 2012 in the Town Hall of Heraklion.

He continues as a writer, is close to publishing an important novel in French and still following with abstract painting.
