born in Vienna in 1960

Childhood and youth in the city of Wr. Neustadt,         near Vienna.
Since the age of 7 regular education in painting and photography from father Alfred, an art teacher, gallerist and painter in the at that time upcoming Vienna school of phantastic realism.

1987 -1995 Several study visits to various countries of the Eastern block and the former Ussr.
Starting of a joint venture enterprise dealing in minerals in cooperation with the Fersman Museum/ Moscow.
Further studies of art, art history, art restauration and         photography in Budapest/Hungary.
Varoius photo trips to Greece, Egypt, Scandinavia, and the USA.
Public lectures in the Vienna area about the landscapes of the American South West.

1996 – first single photo exhibition in Tokaj/Hungary.
2000 Single exhibition „The moment of harmony“ in the Romanian Embassy in Vienna, and founding of the Romanian based international photo group „7 zile“. Several group exhibitions in Romania and abroad ever since.

2003 staring of photoproject „patterns of Crete“, an open work in progress, visually mapping the special character of the island, together with Grethe Bjerring, Renate La Grange, Walter H. Müller and Moires based Greek photographer Jorgos Rouvakis.

2007 first single photoexhibition in Crete in the Art Cafe „Figaro“ in Rethymnon.

2008 Together with „7Zile“ publication of photobook, 

„7- zile /7 years in Maramures“, edition Humanitas/Bucharest. Begin of public lectures ( Sibiu/ Romania ) and photo workshops about landscape photography.

2013 Participation at international art camp „United Colours of Maramures“ in Ocna Sugatag, Romania
2014 start of publishing the annual

„Kamilari Photocalender“ on a regular basis.

2016 Organisation of first group exhibition „ Patterns“ in Crete together with Grethe Bjerring, Renate la Grange and Walter Müller in the House of Culture in Rethymnon.

2017 Organisation of group exhibition „Timeless“ in the Archaeological Museum in Patras/ Peloponnes.

Selected works in various private collections and museums (Museum of fine arts Baia Mare/Romania, Hartlauer Photogalerie/Linz Austria etc.)

Lives and works together with his wife Grethe Bjerring in Kamilari/ Crete, Wr. Neustadt/Austria and Surdesti/Romania.
