TATJANA BUSCHE

I discovered Kamilari in 1986. First walking with a backpack, then by moped and later by car. I have visited many places on Crete. But, I always return to Kamilari. For many years, I have lived for months at a time in Kamilari experiencing the different seasons. I used to travel to Crete especially in the spring, but now I am very excited about the winter too.

My paintings are mainly abstract. They are often black-and-white or in different shades of blue. A friend asked a provocative question, "can you also be colourful and cheerful"? This has prompted me to seek out brighter colours. Some pictures come fast and easy, but most demand work with long processes and sometimes strength.
